Happy weekend, everyone!
I decided to have a nice, relaxing weekend this time by staying in all weekend long and catching up on my favorite shows. I also got some new books to read so hopefully I get a chance to read at least one this weekend...
I caught up on missed episodes of Chuck, 30 rock and The Office. I would highly recommend these shows to you! They are so culturally and socially relevant and help you destress after long days at work.
Today, I decided to buy the whole Season 1 of Bravo's reality show on Kelly Cutrone, the no-nonsense, successful Fashion PR guru, Kell on Earth! I knew I would like the series since I am a PR professional myself and love fashion!
I sat down on my couch and did not move for hours and sat through the entire 8 episodes of Season 1. The show is really captivating as it shows you the hard-working, unglamorous side of fashion PR and marketing. I absolutely love Kelly Cutrone's direct attitude! In fact, I purchase her book, "If You Have to Cry, Go Outside" because it's a great, mentoring book for young professionals. She is tough but she gets things done! No sensitivity and personal feelings should be allowed at work, and she makes it very clear at her company, People's Revolution.
At the same time, she takes care of her employees, maintains loyal relationships with her clients and loves her work. I respect successful women like Kelly Cutrone who doesn't tolerate excuses from people and tells it like it is. I am a firm believer of leaving personal feelings at work because it's strictly business, nothing personal. Often times, some professionals get too sensitive or get personal feelings involved, but business sometimes does not tolerate such emotions. You have to be tough to get things done, and I absolutely enjoyed watching her show on Bravo.
For all the young women out there, this is the show you should watch! Stupidity and incompetence are NOT allowed at People's Revolution, and I love seeing power women!
Bravo also has The Rachel Zoe Project, which I also recommend. It is important for women to learn from other successful, career women and see what it takes to succeed while not losing oneself.
I certainly enjoyed my Kell on Earth marathon today, and am sure you would too!
