Defending Sex and the City!!

OK. I don't understand all the bashing that often comes from men on Sex and the City.

Here are some common sexist & ignorant comments made about Sex and the City from men:

1) It emasculates men.
What I say: Hello?!!! men objectify women in all their action movies!

2) Women are too materialistic
What I say: What's the difference between spending few hundred dollars on beautiful designer shoes and clothes versus men spending thousands of dollars on their wardrobe and tens of thousands on their luxury cars? Men are as materialistic.

3) These women are promiscuous.
What I say: So are men. At least these women are honest about it and own up to it. Also, as long as they hold onto their power, it's not a bad thing.

4) It's not real.
What I say: Whoever says SATC is not real obviously hasn't really sat down and watched the show.

5) It's about sex and materialism.
What I say: Once again, please watch the show! It's ultimately about real friendships and love. It's much more profound. Any show based on just sex and materialism would not leave such legacy and be so internationally popular. Just think about it!

I am a big fan of Sex and the City, and before you knock it, you should at least watch it to know what I am talking about and stop bashing it.

I am currently obsessed with this Dolce Vita Madison nude pumps!

They are chic, patent and nude which means they would go with just about anything and everything!

After this and few cardigans added to my wardrobe, I am officially swearing off shopping for months!

HAPPY HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!! :D

We have two short upcoming weeks, and after that, it will be 2009!! Wow! As a matter of fact, in less than two weeks from today, it will be 2009!

I guess I never got around to buying that 2008 calendar. I better hop to it so that for 2009, I have a calendar in my room.

So I want to share my heavenly experience with you all. I shopped at Barneys yesterday.
YES BARNEYS!!!
I have to admit, I always fantasized about shopping at Barneys.

Surely, Barneys is frequently mentioned in Sex and the City, and that's where Carrie Bradshaw buys her fabulous shoes! I was ecstatic when I shopped at Saks for my designer bags, but being at Barneys and trying on the most beautiful designer shoes was like a dream come true!

I didn't see any celebs this time, but I was sharing my love of shoes with several people there in the shoe department.

The sales associate was so friendly, and he really took a great care of me! I tried on my favorite designer, Manolo Blahnik's wonderful creations. They were on sale so it was even better!

After about 2 hours of salivating and lusting after shoes, I purchased one pair of beautiful ever so Carrie Bradshaw esque Manolo Blahnik sandals and my very first Christian Louboutins! (criss cross bronze metallic sandals! )

I absolutely enjoyed and loved every minute of it! I am so happy!

I like my Louboutins but my heart is still with Manolo Blahniks! Such beauty! :D

Department Store sales

Holiday season means HUGE sales...

Even the biggest department stores are having amazing sales such as Saks, Barneys, Bloomingdales and etc., but even with those amazing 40 to 70% savings, everything is still uber expensive!

Obsessed with Christian Louboutins

Okay. I am currently super obsessed with Christian Louboutins.

I am definitely a Manolo Blahniks fan, but I have to have those classic Louboutins!!

December is turning out to be a rather short month due to few holidays coming up where you get to take paid days off! :D That definitely adds the icing on the cake right?

I am going to be posting more fashion items in the next few days. I want to start off with some designer handbags I've bought recently and share them with you.

Who is your favorite designer when it comes to shoes? handbags? clothes?

1) Favorite designer(s) for handbags : Marc Jacobs :)
(other favs: Louis Vuitton, Prada and Coach)

2) Favorite designer(s) for shoes: Manolo Blahniks

3) Favorite designer(s) for clothes: hmmmmm I like Banana Republic. I would also like DVF, D&G and Armani.

Men I might not know but fashion? Fashion, I know!

Recognize the quote above? well, I tweaked a bit. Carrie said "shoes" but I am saying fashion.

I am a religious reader of Vogue and all the fashion magazines that exist out there. I subscribe them and I read about every designer out there and learn. I appreciate fashion for what it is. I may not understand the creativity to the level that designers do, but I can recognize brands and designs and identify which designers did what.

I don't like to be questioned on my fashion knowledge since I read about it and very confident about what I know. In fact, I haven't been wrong.

In conclusion, I know fashion. I am Ms. Fashionista ;)

Recession: It's official!

Unless you were living in a cave yesterday, the government has officially announced that we are going through a recession! (of course, we knew this months ago right?)

In fact, things are so tight that even the wealthy are spending less and not showing off their material possessions.

How are you coping with this recession?

Let's be grateful for working everyday and for our good health.

I bought Britney Spears's new album, Circus, last night!

I am officially addicted to her new single, Circus!

This CD is awesome! It has great songs you can dance to and sing along in your car. I really like her Circus song though! :)

I am going to see her in concert on my BDAY next year!

Britney: For the Record

I watched the MTV Documentary, Britney: For the Record, last night, and I love and support Britney Spears even more!

She reached super stardom at such a young age, went through heartbreaks that young women go through IN PUBLIC and now is showing everyone that she indeed is the ultimate international Pop Princess.

I think real people fall and get up, and she is a great example of how life and negative people try to keep you down but she will keep fighting.

We love you, Britney!
